There are two ways to accomplish cost reduction - decrease services or increase efficiency. Since service reductions are typically not a viable alternative much focus is being placed on driving efficiency gains. The best way to increase efficiency is through greater automation. One of the most promising technologies available today in the pursuit of efficiency is exception management.

This Webinar focuses on the application of exception management within the investment accounting function. We will look at how exception management allows firms to shift their efforts from identifying exceptions to resolving them leading to greater control over their informaton, improved risk mitigation and higher efficiency gains.

Michael DiScipio combines operational redesign and systems analysis skills to ensure clients achieve maximum return on their technology investments. He has extensive experience with the software development lifecycle including business requirement definition, functional design and testing methodology. Additionally, Mr. DiScipio has held various management roles within financial services including: Custody, Fund Accounting and Fund Administration.

Beth Graff,

Beth Graff is assistant controller with the Principal Financial Group. Graff is responsible for heading up the Fund Accounting Team for Principal Mutual Funds. Ms. Graff joined the company in 1994 as an accountant. The company named her assistant financial Controller in 2008; she has over 16 years of experience in mutual fund accounting. Prior to joining the company, she was an investment accountant with Norwest Mortgage.

Brad J. Costigan,

Principal Funds
Brad Costigan is a financial accounting analyst with the Principal Financial Group. He is responsible for maintaining day to day operations in the Fund Accounting Team for Principal Mutual Funds. Brad joined Principal in 1999 as a financial accountant and has been at his current position since 2006. All of his 10 plus years at Principal have been in the mutual fund accounting area.

Paul zur Nieden, vice president, product management and strategy, for SunGard’s Asset Arena has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services software industry, including operations, technology, product management and client services at major banks and software companies. An accomplished product manager, Mr. zur Nieden has led numerous efforts related to product management and client services for the last nine years within the Asset Arena product family.
