Service-Oriented Architecture

As the business of banking becomes more standardized, differentiation comes from agility. That goal of agility is made more challenging when banks are struggling with disparate applications, incompatible technologies and disjointed business processes.

SunGard’s Infinity SOA software foundation, Common Services Architecture (CSA), is a vendor-agnostic service oriented architecture (SOA), based on mainstream open standards, that enables discrete components from SunGard’s product portfolio to be plugged together to form configurable, composite applications. The CSA approach provides our customers with the ability to implement new solutions and functionalities that are based on business and customer requirements, not IT encumbrances. It is specifically designed to work with the wide variety of legacy and proprietary technologies commonly found in financial services organizations.

As an example, Ambit Customer Service Manager, developed on SOA principles, helps banks to deploy the most appropriate business services for their customers across multiple channels. Providing a single view of the customer across the bank, Ambit facilitates integrated customer communications and marketing campaigns driven by user-configurable business process flows and rules.
