Uppsala University, one of Northern Europe’s most highly ranked universities, is to incorporate SunGard’s Front Arena, a global capital markets solution, into its Financial Maths Masters Program.
As part of the course, Front Arena will be used to show how the pricing of options is carried out in "real life" scenarios as well as in an integrated bank environment. The solution will be part of a course in which students will use Front Arena’s existing models. As students progress through their course of study, they will also be able to use Front Arena to build their own models or modify existing models.
Håkan Lanshammar, Professor and Head of the Department of Information Technology at Uppsala University, said: "We know that the link between theory and real life is important in enhancing the learning process and preparing students for their future careers in financial services.
