The Swiss finance industry is facing one of its most challenging periods in recent history. Despite weathering the global crisis better than many neighboring nations, proposed changes to local secrecy laws and new regulatory pressures are creating new headaches for local financial institutions.
This is therefore a perfect time to come together and ask “What Happens Next?”. Which is what almost 300 senior Swiss finance executives did on 17th June, coming together with SunGard in Zurich’s imposing Maag Hall to discuss with peers and colleagues what the future holds. In addition to covering important topics such as capturing liquidity and mitigating counterparty risk, we heard from keynote speakers such as Dr. Marc Faber, the respected economist, who presented his view on the light at the end of the tunnel.
