Advanced Pension Conference - Spring 2012
Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando® Resort
February 15 - 17, 2012
Orlando, Florida
The challenge to stay ahead of all the changes affecting retirement plans has never been greater. 2012 will be the first year service providers and plan administrators must deal with the two new sets of disclosure rules. Although the DOL issued the rules themselves in 2010, their implementation has been delayed pending issuance of the "final, final" service provider rules and a transitional electronic disclosure rule. Meanwhile, the IRS has revamped what can and cannot be done in prototype and volume submitter plans, and the DOL is poised to revise Form 5500 for 2011. And even as all these changes in legal requirements are taking place, the daily reality of retirement practice is shifting, with increased attention to multiple employer plans and electronic marketing.
SunGard's Advanced Pension Conference (APC) in Orlando is the perfect way to stay abreast of all that's happening, while earning up to 950 minutes of continuing education credits. We are bringing back some of our most popular speakers to the program: Ilene Ferenczy, Tom Finnegan, Stephen Forbes, Craig Hoffman, Robert Richter, and Derrin Watson. This year, they will be joined by two speakers new to the conference, Kevin Burch, who recently joined Relius Education, and popular speaker Adam Pozek. The panel brings you three ASPPA Presidents and three winners of ASPPA Educator's Award. This impressive panel of experts will bring their broad knowledge and expertise to bear on keeping you informed and answering your questions.
The Orlando APC focuses on the most pressing pension issues, including the following:
-
Keeping current, a summary of changes over the past year
-
Washington update from Craig Hoffman, ASPPA's General Counsel
-
Implementing the fee disclosure regulations
-
Using social media to expand your brand
-

This year, we added the Just for ERPAs Workshop, a one-day program conveniently scheduled on Tuesday, February 14, the day before the APC. This ERPA Workshop will cover everything an ERPA does: compliance testing, plan restatements and amendments, the determination letter process, EPCRS/SCP/VCP, Form 5500 filing including Forms 8955-SSA and 5558, and more. Earn up to 8 hours of ERPA credit, including two ethics hours. Register for both the Orlando APC and the ERPA Workshop, and pay only $250 for the Workshop, a savings of $160. To take advantage of this offer, you must use the APC registration form. To view the Workshop complete agenda and to register online, visit our Web site.
