Ambit Messaging Hub for FileAct

The number of FileAct-based services is growing, fueled by initiatives such SEPA, CCI and more.  These FileAct initiatives involve not only bank-to-bank communications, but also banks communicating with market infrastructures and corporations. Corporations are joining the SWIFTNet community and expect their banks to use FileAct. Thus a FileAct solution enables banks to provide a better service to their customers.

FileAct reduces the cost of traffic compared to FIN. For example, for a relatively small bank, processing only 5000 FIN messages a day, if only 50% of the bank’s non-urgent FIN traffic is bulked and sent as FileAct files, this leads to a significant annual saving of over 100K Euro.

SunGard can help with its FileAct offering on its messaging gateway. SunGard’s Ambit Messaging Hub supports SWIFT services and provides a full and flexible solution for FileAct, with all variants of the FileAct protocol, to suit business needs. It is a secure and scalable platform includes tools to quickly get the bank up and running. Ambit Messaging Hub for FileAct offers robust file processing and can accept proprietary message headers coming from the bank's back-end application. It also performs conversion to XML to meet SWIFTNet standards (ISO20022).
