Ambit RMA
SWIFT has replaced the Bilateral Key Exchange (BKE) service with the Relationship Management Application (RMA). This provides better control over relationships with counterparties. The RMA service is currently available for FIN messages only but will be extended in the future to FileAct and InterAct services.
SunGard can help with its offering for SWIFT services on its messaging gateway. SunGard's Ambit RMA provides central management of business relationships between SWIFTNet FIN correspondents by means of exchanging RMA authorizations. Ambit RMA will support relationships for FileAct and InterAct when specified by SWIFT. Ambit RMA has been fully certified by SWIFT.
Features
- Central management of RMA authorizations. Managing relationships of multiple MINT (or other messaging gateway) instances and multi-bank configuration
- Web user interface
- Managing allowed BIC8s according to user’s privileges. Users can only manage authorizations for the BIC8s they are individually authorized to access
- Dual control (4-eyes approval). Creation and modification of RMA authorizations require approval by a second user before the authorization request is ready to be sent out. The changes are displayed to the second user together with the original content of the RMA authorization
- Detailed audit trail. Every user activity as well as every change in the content of the authorization is logged in the audit trail of the RMA entry
- Pre-defined searches. Pre-defined search provides a quick and user-friendly way for issuing some of the most frequently used queries
- Granularity of authorization per MT or message category provides restriction of allowed messages.
- Batch operation. User’s actions on BIC4/BIC6 are applied on all corresponding BIC8s
- Export/Import of RMA files in “near real-time” mode
Benefits
- Leverages investment. Co–hosted on the same machine as MINT saves server costs. It also reuses existing SWIFTNet infrastructure, saving costs
- Provides central authorization management, managing relationships of multiple MINT (or other messaging gateway) instances and multi-bank configuration in the same database
- Provides advanced features in the basic offering including granularity of authorizations, with optional restriction of the allowed messages per MT or message category, and batch operation, which enables managing multiple relationships in one user’s request. User’s action on BIC4/BIC6 (for both Issuer and Correspondent) is applied on all the corresponding BIC8s
