With experience in Market and Credit Risk, Marcus has worked through the creation of, and rationalization of both the metrics used and limits setting policy against those metrics. Commentary
In risk management, both market and credit risk management are at the core of ensuring that global firms meet both internal and regulatory risk controls. Enterprise risk management is complex and demanding, requiring connectivity with many systems and pools of data, and swift response times for trading.

The key to implementing a workable approach to risk management, in this complex environment, is a full understanding of both the extent and the limitations of what the risk numbers actually explain. It is also vital to contextualize the risk results across the broader framework of the financial system. The dynamics between factors, in and out of the portfolio become an important area of risk insight.

Finally, the creation of a risk framework means establishing a working language between the risk takers, the risk mangers and the risk stakeholders. It is this, above all things that allows for risk to taken, measured and understood in context against the stated risk appetite.
