SunGard Donate ACPO 2008 Stand to PDT
SunGard Public Sector today announced that it will again join forces with the Police Dependant’s Trust (PDT) at the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) Conference and Exhibition 2008, following the positive feedback from last year’s event.
The collaboration is a tangible way for SunGard to thank the police sector for the support it has given the business for the past 30 years.
We are unfortunately often reminded of the sadness and devastation that are felt by relatives and friends of serving police officers who die or are injured in the course of their work. Frequently the police place themselves in dangerous situations than can go terribly wrong - we pay our respects to PC Ian Terry at GMP who recently died after injuries sustained in a training exercise and the fatal shooting of PC Sharon Beshenivsky in 2005. These stories underline the commitment that these individuals make in serving and protecting the public.
David French, chief executive of the Police Dependants’ Trust, commented, “We need to educate senior officers regarding the PDT’s role and capabilities and I am grateful to SunGard for donating its exhibition space and giving us the opportunity to communicate with ACPO ranks at the premier event in their calendar.”
The Police Dependants’ Trust will be on stand J1 at the ACPO Exhibition, located alongside the Police Superintendent’s stand. Norrie Flowers, PDT Trustee will be on the stand on Thursday 26th June to promote the PDT’s work and to answer questions regarding establishing and maintaining links with the forces.
