Anshuman Anand is senior lead consultant - actuarial for SunGard’s insurance business. In this role, he is responsible for providing actuarial consulting services around iWorks Prophet to clients across the globe. He is one of the authors of the iWorks Solvency II blog and is a frequent speaker on insurance industry topics.
Mr. Anand has worked with leading consulting and insurance organizations around the world to provide cutting edge actuarial solutions. Prior to joining SunGard, he has worked with Ernst & Young, Watson Wyatt and Mercer in their actuarial consulting practice. His area of expertise includes Solvency II, IFRS, enterprise risk management, asset liability management, Prophet modelling, product development and business plan projections.
Commentary
Solvency II has been a huge catalyst for change not only for insurance regulations in the European Union but also for the rest of the world. With many other regulatory changes combined, the insurance industry worldwide is increasingly feeling the need for robust, flexible and scalable actuarial solutions. The shortage of skilled professionals is one of the pain areas therefore insurance companies are looking to work more closely with their consulting partners to overcome the challenge.
