In recent times, due to the volatility in the credit markets, changes in the Credit Value Adjustment (CVA) have caused huge swings for banks' reported earnings. This increased volatility of P&L has elicited a commensurate increase in scrutiny of CVA and how to manage it. CVA is about understanding risk numbers quickly. However, most front‐office systems cannot deliver CVA on an intraday or end‐of‐day basis. There are also challenges around data acquisition, computational performance, model flexibility.
