As marketing director, David Morgan is responsible for product marketing of SunGard capital markets’s front-office product line and assisting SunGard’s drive to offer managed services based on all of its major products. Having been responsible for front-office product marketing at GL Trade, Mr. Morgan joined SunGard with the acquisition of GL Trade in January 2009.
Previously, Mr. Morgan worked at IBM and in consulting before spending 13 years with Reuters, where he held senior marketing positions and managed Swiss business operations. These roles have provided him many years’ experience of working with traders globally across equity, derivatives and forex markets, in marketing, product management and business management roles.
Post-credit crisis, focus on improving efficiency and risk management in trading operations is more important than ever. There is also pressure to adapt to radical changes in the marketplace, such as Europe’s market fragmentation and the coming changes in Asia. Trading organizations facing these challenges need to be agile in their response, and adoption of managed services is, for many, an effective aid in achieving this goal. Outsourcing complex technical and operational tasks, in particular, allows a trading firm to place harder focus where it should be: on core business activities.
