Doug Morgan is president of SunGard’s institutional asset management business. In this role, Mr. Morgan has management responsibility for Asset Arena, SunGard’s solution suite for asset managers and servicers. Mr. Morgan’s strategic perspectives on the industry are derived from more than 15 years of experience in financial information technology solutions that address the needs of buy-side firms – ranging from back-office investment processing to front-office decision support.
Commentary
Investment managers are unrelenting in their pursuit of alpha. Technology enables this strategy and provides an essential means of managing its various consequences. These consequences take many forms including the growing complexity of investment strategies, increased globalization and an ever-changing regulatory landscape. In response, technology must be readily adaptable to meet customer-specific needs. Orchestrating discrete services to create seamless systems environments can provide investment managers and administrators the path they need to sustained scalability.
