John Vander Vennet is managing director of SunGard’s wealth management businesses for the Asia Pacific region. Based in Sydney, Australia, Mr. Vander Vennet is responsible for growing SunGard’s wealth management business in the region. A nearly ten year veteran of SunGard, Mr. Vander Vennet has held a variety of roles in sales, account management and business development, and is an expert at helping organizations maximize their investments in technology to drive efficiency, capitalize on opportunities and increase revenue.
Prior to SunGard, Mr.Vander Vennet worked for Morgan Stanley’s Van Kampen Funds unit and Currenex, a leading foreign exchange platform now owned by State Street. Mr. Vander Vennet has a bachelor’s degree from Boston College.

The term “wealth management” has a multitude of definitions across the financial services landscape and across the world. This fact illustrates and underscores the upheaval facing the industry today – an upheaval that predated the global financial crisis but has intensified since the fall of 2008. Now more than ever, wealth management firms of all sizes need a clear value proposition and strategy – and technology and services that reinforce both.
