Context
Kalpesh Master is a managing partner with SunGard Global Services, responsible for managed services and the global delivery model. With more than 20 years of experience in IT consulting, primarily working with clients within the financial services industry, Mr. Master is an expert in the global delivery model. He specializes in providing outsourcing solutions, delivery management and consulting services around large scale, global initiatives that involve IT outsourcing, business process outsourcing and testing services. He also focuses on strategic global delivery initiatives that require measurable return on investment, risk mitigation, predictability of service delivery through service level agreements, and the improvement of operational efficiency and quality.
Before joining SunGard Global Services in 2009, Mr. Master spent more than seven years at Cognizant Technology Solutions as a director and client partner within its baking and financial services vertical. Prior to Cognizant, he spent more than six years as a vice president, responsible for delivery and execution, at SeraNova, an e-business technology consulting firm in the U.S.
Mr. Master holds B.S. degree in computer science from M.S. University of Baroda, India.
Commentary
Current economic conditions are requiring chief information officers and chief operating officers to reduce budgets, especially in the “run/operate” functions that account for majority of spending. Compounding the pressure, IT is being asked to focus more on innovation and strategic initiatives, and the business is being challenged to stay ahead of the market.
