Leslie Barbagallo oversees global product management, operations and distribution for data management for SunGard’s energy solutions business. In this role, she manages a comprehensive suite of energy and commodity data and data vendors to help our customers reduce the costs and operational risks of enterprise data management and warehousing, and enter new markets more reliably and quickly. Ms. Barbagallo has more than seventeen years experience in energy and commodities markets, delivering data, analytics and decision support solutions to the financial, energy and utility sectors.
Commentary
While confronting shortened decision-making time in highly volatile commodities markets and cost-cutting, energy and financial organizations face a data deluge. In particular, adding new energy development and/or trading revenues requires fast implementation of pricing and settlement information and likely real-time prices, charts and news, reference data and tariff data. Quality sources, along with the right tools to aggregate, analyze, validate and warehouse data are critical to minimizing time to market and ensuring critical business decisions are based on good information.
