Mark Courtepatte is the director, product management for SunGard’s iWorks core insurance policy administration solutions. In this role, he is responsible for setting the overall strategic direction of SunGard’s core policy systems, developing product roadmaps, and defining insurance solutions to meet the needs of the insurance market.
Mr. Courtepatte is an insurance expert with more than thirty years of extensive and diversified senior executive operations, technology and line of business experience in the life, health and savings & retirement insurance industry. His leadership experience encompasses sales, product development, pricing, underwriting, class action litigation, claims, administration, strategic planning, business development, risk management, fraud investigations, as well as legacy modernization and customer relationship management. Prior to joining SunGard in 2009, he worked for IBM as an associate partner and was a representative of IBM’s Global Life and Health Councils. He also held the role as chairman of the Canadian Life & Health Insurance Association (CLHIA) Group Committee for eight years, representing the insurance industry in Canada. He also presently holds the role of Executive Board member for the Canadian Life Insurance eData Standards (CLIEDIS)
Commentary
The life, health, and wealth insurance markets are under substantial global competitive pressures, growing regulatory oversight, and the critical need to be innovative and responsive to meet and exceed their clients changing product and service expectations while at the same time managing their risks as well as their acquisition and maintenance costs to enable them to achieve their business plan and profit objectives.
