Michelle Dennis is vice president of strategic business operations for the iWorks Financials suite of products in SunGard’s insurance business, responsible for strategic planning and vendor and client relationship management. Since joining SunGard in 1994, Ms. Dennis has been involved in many facets of the organization including product design, product support, product training, business process outsourcing and strategic account management.
During her 17 year career with SunGard, Ms Dennis has worked with many iWorks Financials customers, gaining an in-depth understanding of the complex accounting and reporting requirements unique to insurance companies. Prior to joining SunGard, Ms. Dennis spent four years managing the investment accounting group at a $40 billion financial institution.
Commentary
The insurance industry continues to face many challenges including a dynamic regulatory environment at the state and federal level, a need for increased internal controls, a demand for real-time financial information and a need for more complex investments to help insurance firms achieve required returns. Insurance companies are looking for integrated accounting solutions that can help them achieve a consolidated view of their business.
