Wolfgang Prinz is vice president of global transaction management solutions within SunGard’s banks and corporations business. In this role, he is responsible for SunGard’s intelliSUITE and Liquidity Manager product lines. Prior to this role, Mr. Prinz served as director of product and strategy for intelliSUITE, with responsibility for program management and presales. He also played a key role in the launch of SunGard’s Liquidity Manager. Prior to SunGard, Mr. Prinz spent seven years at SmartStream Technologies, where he started as product manager for reconciliation and moved on to become STP program manager for Europe.

Increased regulation, governance and operational risk management requirements mean the financial services industry is starting to see standardized enterprise reconciliations as a commodity. Wolfgang Prinz’s expertise is in transaction lifecycle management and deployment of centralized matching and exception management services. This makes him a key resource for financial institutions that are looking to introduce matching-based audit and compliance frameworks. Commentary
Readily available, real-time cash information has resulted in a paradigm shift for liquidity management. For the first time, forecasted cash flows can be checked against real-time bank information automatically. This leads to higher decision quality, resulting in the best use of working capital. The industry will benefit from the better quantification of risk, improved audit capability and increased automation. The advanced efficiency of these processes will eventually move the current end-of-day reconciliation to an intra-day, real-time matching model.
