Commission and Fee Module

Stream GMI’s Commission and Fee Module can help your firm reduce manual processes and human errors, shift functions from overnight batch processing cycles forward to the point of entry, and access business functions more easily. You can deploy the modules and APIs on other application servers, including Apache, JBOSS, and Glassfish, and other platforms, including Sun Microsystems.

The Commission and Fee Module consists of three elements: real-time commissions and fees, a commission and fee API, and the EGUS Plug-in.

Features

The real-time commissions and fees functionality:

  • Allows you to calculate commissions and fees on trades at the point of entry instead of, or in addition to, the night processing cycle
  • Does not impact trade load processing times
  • Includes real-time recalculations that are triggered by changes to static commission rate and fee rate data tables
  • Processes trade groupings, daily scaled volume calculations, and any other calculations requiring the full day’s worth of trades to calculate during the end of day cycle

The Commission and Fee API:

  • Helps you avoid the use of manual entry utilities when inputting commission and fee rates
  • Provides an interface for reading and validating messages as well as adding, changing and deleting data within Stream GMI database files, and logging the action and status

The EGUS Plug-in:

  • Is designed for customers participating in the Futures Industry Association’s Web-based Electronic Give-up Agreement System (EGUS)
  • Takes the give-up rate data via an EGUS API, reformats the data, and passes it into the Commission and Fee API

Benefits

  • Eliminates the need to manually maintain commission rates in both Stream GMI and an external database
  • Helps reduce both workload and discrepancies between Stream GMI and external databases
  • Helps you stay ahead of changes to exchange and clearance fees by automatically updating them within Stream GMI through a link to a third-party data source
  • Reduces the length of the night processing cycle because you do not have to recalculate commissions and fees on trades that were calculated in real time
  • Gives you the ability to provide your clients with the real-time information that they need
