SunGard’s Protegent suite of compliance solutions supports financial services firms’ efforts in managing the temporary, emergency short-selling ban enacted by the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) on the shares of more than 800 financial companies. Current Protegent customers are already equipped to rapidly comply with the order and closely monitor short selling trends of employees.

SunGard has been recognized by the SOA Consortium and CIO Magazine for having successfully delivered business value through its Common Services Architecture (CSA), a vendor-agnostic service oriented architecture (SOA) based on mainstream open standards. The SOA Case Study Competition determined that SunGard’s CSA has helped to enhance customer satisfaction by facilitating a higher volume of software solutions delivered, greater efficiencies in delivering those solutions, and increased compatibility for integrating with customers’ SOA environments.

Fiat Finance S.p.A. has chosen SunGard’s AvantGard for SWIFT messaging and connectivity. One of the founders of the European motor industry, Fiat Group will use AvantGard for integrating the payment messaging of its treasury operations to SWIFT and to help improve its existing international payment factory.

SunGard and GL TRADE today announced that SunGard had completed the previously announced acquisition of a majority interest in GL TRADE, a global financial software solutions company. SunGard acquired from Euronext Paris S.A. and GL TRADE’s three founders, Messrs. Pierre Gatignol, Louis-Christophe Laurent and Frédéric Morin, together with entities controlled by them, 6,200,030 shares of GL TRADE, representing 64.51% of GL TRADE’s share capital, at a price of €41.70 per share. The transaction, which puts a value of €400.7 million (approximately US$585.3 million) on 100% of GL TRADE’s share capital (excluding the effect of outstanding stock options), is not expected to have a material impact on SunGard’s financial results.

EmployBridge, a leading US provider of branded, industry-specific staffing solutions, has selected SunGard’s AvantGard to help automate and improve the efficiency of its order-to-cash cycle. The company will use the AvantGard receivables management solution to help improve cash flow, mitigate bad debt expense and minimize operational costs. (www.sungard.com/avantgard).

Veotoro Management, a Miami-based commodity hedge fund, has implemented SunGard’s Kiodex Risk Workbench for commodity trading and risk management. Veotoro will use Kiodex to manage portfolio risk using a range of reports for risk analysis, profit and loss, attribution, mark to market and Value at Risk (VaR). Kiodex will support the new fund’s relative value trading strategy in commodities and in the global energy sector.

MBF (http://www.mbf.com.au), part of leading health insurer Bupa Australia, has selected SunGard’s EXP solution for business process management and enterprise content management (http://www.sungard.com/exp). MBF will use SunGard’s EXP for end-to-end claims processing, document management and integrated workflows across sales and delivery channels in order to help achieve greater visibility and operational efficiency of business processes, higher quality of service and increased client satisfaction. Integrated with business process management capability from SunGard’s Infinity Process Platform*, EXP will provide process modeling and simulation, operations monitoring and visibility across both multiple systems and departmental boundaries.

SunGard Higher Education (http://www.sungardhe.com) announced today that the latest version of its Advance alumni relations, fundraising and development software system now integrates with the Banner Student administrative solution. The integration allows the advancement office to upload recent information from the Banner system and synchronize that data over time without having to perform a complete file transfer. This simplified process makes it easier to keep data on students, alumni and parents current, which helps contribute to operational efficiency, philanthropic programs and institutional accountability.

SunGard (http//:www.sungard.com) is extending and refining the voice authentication capability in its Omni 401(k) platform, to help enterprises and service providers use voice identity authentication in order to reduce the risk of unauthorized access to personal information. Omni is incorporating IBM’s Web-service-based Speaker Verification (SV) and IBM Websphere Voice Server (WVS) for voice authentication into its Intervoice IVR/voice portal solution, giving its customers the ability to authenticate someone’s identity based on their unique voiceprint. It can also be used as part of a multi-factor authentication strategy, to add a risk assessment aspect to the solution.

National Bank of Greece has gone live with SunGard’s Ambit intelliMATCH solution for the real-time matching and reconciliation of its cash transactions and confirmations. The solution delivers enhanced business process management capabilities and helps to reduce operational risk exposure through the early identification and pre-settlement resolution of errors. NCMIC Group, Inc. has selected SunGard’s iWorks Premium Billing Solution, an enterprise-wide billing system for the property and casualty industry (http://www.sungard.com/iWorks), to help with its billing and collection of premiums and to help increase efficiency and reduce costs through system automation. The rules- based system offers the flexibility to change payment plans and fee structures, as well as XML-based system-to-system integration.

SunGard has announced the launch of a new SWIFT capability for its Asset Arena Investment Accounting system (www.sungard.com/assetarena). The solution integrates the SunGard Transaction Network (www.sungard.com/stn) STN for SWIFT connectivity into Asset Arena and is designed to help Asset Arena customers adopt globally recognized messaging standards and leverage a shared-service SWIFT infrastructure.

SunGard’s Ambit Messaging Hub, its new messaging platform, has successfully passed the SWIFTNet Interface Qualification for SWIFTNet 6.1 InterAct and FileAct. The solution, which provides a single platform on which customers can consolidate all financial messaging activity, regardless of format, has been qualified based on a range of criteria, including security, message processing, integration support, application support, operational stability and more.

SunGard’s Ambit BancWare ALM solution (www.sungard.com/ambit) has successfully completed a series of new performance benchmarking tests. The tests, undertaken with Intel, Microsoft and DataSynapse, were designed to help enhance the asset and liability management solution, which allows financial institutions to identify and actively manage threats and opportunities in the balance sheet.
