SunGard Vivista Awarded ISO20000 Accreditation
December 13, 2007 — London, UK
SunGard Vivista (http://www.sungard.com/vivista) today announced that it has been awarded ISO20000-1 certification for the delivery and support of the Ambulance Radio Programme (ARP).
ISO/IEC 20000 is the first worldwide standard specifically aimed at IT Service Management. It describes an integrated set of management processes for the effective delivery of services to the business and its customers.
ISO/IEC 20000 is aligned with and complementary to the process approach defined within ITIL from the Office of Government Commerce (OGC).
The scope of ISO/IEC 20000-1:2005 includes:
- Requirements for a management system;
- Planning and implementing service management;
- Planning and implementing new or changed services;
- Service delivery process;
- Relationship processes;
- Resolution processes;
- Control processes;
- Release processes.
SunGard Vivista’s ISO 20000 Process Architect, Bryan Williams, said, “ISO20000-1 requires hard evidence that the business unit is complying with every part of the standard, and that there is a commitment to continuous improvement. The scope was complex, covering all the end-to-end services of the ARP project. SunGard is one of a very few organisations that have gained accreditation to this degree and this achievement will help differentiate SunGard Vivista.”
SunGard Vivista’s ARP Manager, Steve Watson said, “This is a significant achievement for the programme and SunGard Vivista. This not only completes one of the ARP contract deliverables, but provides the building blocks to ensure consistency and best practice across service management activities just as the Ambulance Trusts start to use the service in live operational environments.”
