SunGard Higher Education Announces Latest Release of the Banner Unified Digital Campus
August 11, 2008 — Malvern, PA
SunGard Higher Education (www.sungardhe.com) announced the availability of the latest version of its Banner Unified Digital Campus (UDC). This release, including the Banner 8 suite of administrative solutions, further aligns Banner UDC components in one coordinated delivery to help institutions of higher education plan more efficiently and leverage technology assets more productively.
This release highlights the synergy among the Banner UDC suite of solutions, and further helps institutions to achieve their unified digital campus vision. From the creation of the requirements, to the design, test and delivery — this release allows new features to leverage the full capabilities of the Banner UDC, and expands the ability of these components to work seamlessly together.
The Banner 8 suite of solutions builds on the strength of higher education-specific Banner UDC functionality and helps enhance an institution’s ability to:
- Improve fiscal accountability and realize cost savings
- Enforce compliance across campuses
- Deliver more convenient constituent services
- Manage capacity
- Remain competitive in the global environment
The SunGard Higher Education Unified Digital Campus Test Center (UDC Test Center) provided an environment to help ensure thorough testing and quality assurance of this release. Announced in November 2007, the UDC Test Center simulates real-world technology environments using the Banner UDC and hardware and operating systems from Dell and Sun Microsystems to help evaluate and optimize various configurations of a unified digital campus prior to implementation.
“Institutions of higher education face increasing pressures to save time and money and at the same time foster operational and service excellence,” said Brian Madocks, chief executive officer, SunGard Higher Education. “This release of the Banner UDC delivers the full complement of solutions together, helping make it easier for customers to allocate resources more effectively and help reduce the cost of operations. We are dedicated to supporting our customers as they drive to meet performance expectations for the numerous and diverse constituents they serve.”
