June 2, 2009 — Zurich

Schwyzer Kantonalbank (SZKB), the state bank of the Swiss canton of Schwyz, has extended its relationship with SunGard’s Ambit MINT, part of the Ambit Messaging solution suite.  The solution gives SZKB connectivity to a number of financial networks, including SWIFT, SIC, euroSIC and SECOM, helping the bank improve operational efficiency, manage risk and reduce costs.

SunGard’s Ambit Messaging is a global solution that is able to handle SWIFTNet services as well as traditional SWIFT FIN and SIC/Secom Swiss local market clearing connectivity.  It also includes versions of the ISO 20022 and ISO 15022 data dictionaries for MT-MX message coexistence.

Alphons Lindauer, information technology director for SZKB, commented: “Many Kantonal banksin Switzerland are using Ambit MINT to connect to SWIFT and Swiss financial networks. We  have opted to continue our commitment with SunGard due to the strong trust we have developed with them.”

Hans Cobben, group vice president, global messaging solutions of SunGard’s banks business, commented: “This solution offers SZKB an integrated, multi-network solution, and also fits the bank’s functional integration and connectivity requirements. Ambit MINT will help SZKB manage its future business growth.”

SunGard’s Ambit MINT customers can leverage existing technology as well as extended functionality via the Ambit Messaging Hub.  Together these solutions can help banks to meet existing messaging requirements as well as comply with future industry developments such as ISO 20022.  The Ambit Messaging solution suite helps banks connect to a range of market infrastructures, including SWIFTNet (FIN, FileAct, InterAct), central banks, ACH and local clearing networks.  The solution combines traditional infrastructure gateway capabilities such as queue management, straight-through processing (STP), message routing, translation and formatting, with a component-based J2EE architecture.
